Barry Hipwell BEng (Hons) CEng MIStructE
Barry Hipwell is a Chartered Engineer [CEng], corporate member of the Institution of
Structural Engineers [MIStructE] since 1993 and holds a First Class Honours [BEng(Hons)]
in Civil Engineering, awarded in 1992.
To date, Barry has over 30 years’ experience in the construction industry, in both military
and civil environments.
Five years’ service in HM Forces [Royal Engineers] was followed by employment with two local
consulting civil and structural engineering companies, culminating in the directorship and
co-ownership of the latter.
Barry is able to bring a unique perspective to bear in dealing with structural matters,
having gained extensive experience at all levels within the engineering consultancy industry,
ranging from site investigation technician, to design and detail draughtsman, through to project
engineer and man and company management.
